Custom Imaging Solutions

Vicisoft Technologies provides custom development services for building applications involving imaging, recognition, indexing or search technologies as per the specific requirements of the Clients. These solutions are built using C, C++, VC++.For instance we built an application for a Client based in the Middle East for scanning news items published in various papers and journals from various locations along with support for Annotations for the users to add their comments. All these can be uploaded to a specific location on the Internet and the Organization's CEO can view all these as Reports (the actual clippings along with the comments). Scan Client for Lotus Notes ScanClient for Notes product from the ViciDocs suite allows Lotus Notes users to attach scanned documents directly to the emails from the Notes Client with a seamless interface. How does a user using Lotes notes client send a paper based document to another user? The user has to use the scanning software that comes with the scanner, scan the document, store it in the local machine and then attach the local scanned document to the new email.Apart from the tedious process, the following are some of the issues that compound the problem.

How to scan a multi page document? How to set the scanning options What output format should be used for scanning the document? How to scan the document from the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) and the Flat Bed of the scanner? Whenever the scanner is changed, user training has to be done to understand the scanner options Throw away all those problems and use a one common simple interface independent of the scanner to scan your paper documents and attach them to the emails. Not just that, scan interface is incorporated into the email design of Notes Client directly thus presenting a much simpler integration. Screenshots "Scan It" option in the New Memo of Lotus Notes email client along with the common Scanning options interface which comes up independant of the scanner used. Scanned document shown as an attachment to the email message Attachment when double clicked gets displayed in the default image viewer of notes client.

ViciDocs Suite now includes a powerful distributed capture solution that can be integrated with LOTUS Domino.Doc system. For organizations that already have formalized DMS like LOTUS Domino.Doc in place, the challenge is to have a seamless capture mechanism for capturing documents in paper form as well as electronic form into the DMS repository. This is what ViciCapture can enable by seamlessly integrating with LOTUS Domino and by providing a means for systematic and organized addition of documents to the DMS. ViciCapture is a distributed capture solution with advanced capabilities which include: Support for scanning in paper documents from distributed capture stations. Facility for importing computer documents.Recognition of scanned using OCR/ICR/MICR technologies. Customizable index fields.Distributed architecture leading to robustness and scalability. Smooth Integrability with external DMS through APIs. Provides a single, consistent capture interface for all content regardless of the format. Can be used with any existing TWAIN-compatible scanners, MFPs (Multi Function Peripherals)and reduces ongoing cost of capturing content. ViciCapture is currently integrated with the following DMS: ViciDocs Enterprise Lotus Domino.doc ViciCapture is available on Microsoft platform and is also compliant with Microsoft.Net.

Fax integration is one of the important requirements for any enterprise that requires an integrated electronic document management solution. By providing seamless integration with fax in the Document Capture, oranizations now have a single-stop solution for various types of documents they deal with - paper documents; electronic documents; emails; faxes ! Key highlights of the fax integration are: Support for popular Fax software like Microsoft Fax. Enables setting of configuration by users to auto archive incoming faxes to designated folder in the repository. Administrator can define multiple fax settings within the network. Users can also send specific documents in the repository as fax to external fax devices using the fax service in the system. Extraction of content from incoming fax data using OCR for full text indexing.Auto-Capture and indexing of standard fax related metadata such as Source Fax Number; Subject; From; To; Date; Destination Number etc, where available. Powerful storage algorithms for speedy search and retrieval. Fax documents archived can be viewed using standard Image viewers. Benefits: Auto Capture of incoming faxes. Finding information in the faxes received by the organization lot easier as faxes can be searched for full text of the content. Retrievability of specific faxes based on auto-captured metadata also. Helps the organization comply with the legal regulations for data retention. Eliminates the need for end users to employ individual archive files for faxes.
