Version control

ViciDocs Enterprise supports the highlighting of the hits in the document. When user performs a search for a word or a phrase, the results list gets displayed. The user can click on the text link in each of the results. This will display the textual content of the document with the search terms highlighted. The user can also navigate across the hits in the document, as each of the highlighted text words is hyper link to the next and previous hits in the document. ViciDocs Enterprise comes with an optional integration of a powerful viewer that supports viewing of various image and document formats even without the native application installation. ViciDocs Enterprise has an inbuilt version control system enabled through the Capture Client module. The Version Control system supports various features like Check In, Check Out, View History, View Latest version etc., ViciDocs Enterprise Version control system is quite elaborate with the following features. Single CheckIn and CheckOut of documents, thus avoiding conflicts in versions. Users with valid permissions only can create new versions of the documents in the repository. Version History of the documents can be viewed with appropriate comments entered by the user. Visual indicator in Capture Client module to indicate the status of the document.

ViciDocs has a comprehensive BackUp and Restore mechanism with which the various data components (like the database, documents, indices, registry entries etc.,) can be backed up as well as restored easily and effectively. ViciDocs Enterprise is a highly scalable solution with flexibility to store large number of documents even at a later stage without redoing the whole process. It has the ability to define multiple volumes across different machines for storing data across machines. ViciDocs Enterprise allows the admin users to create various types of reports along with audit trail reports, which can be customized. As part of every implementation, detailed documentation including User Manuals, Help, Installation Manuals will be given. ViciDocs provides free warranty and maintenance support for the software for six months from the date of installation. It may be extended beyond that also through an AMC. Storage of documents through barcode is very convenient - thousands of documents can be put after a barcode and there is no manual intervention required to direct them to a folder. The barcode feature also allows delegation of the document capture responsibility since the printout of the barcode is enough to specify where the documents need to be stored. The use of OCR and indexing provides a powerful search capability. Documents can be searched for words, phrases and their logical combinations (for e.g. search for documents with 'Word1' AND 'Word2') The search engine allows fuzzy search wherein approximate matches are served up. This is particularly relevant because OCR engines are not 100% accurate. The Viewer allows user to navigate across documents easily and perform other operations like zooming, rotating etc. Version control allows the maintenance of Versions of various documents with single check out facility so that multiple users cannot modify the same document.

WorkFlow Engine allows the creation of workflow templates and assigning documents to a particular workflow enabling the document to be routed to multiple users and actions.ODMA (Open Document Management API) compliance through DCOM interfaces allows the integration of ViciDocs into any existing ODMA compliant client application.The falling hardware prices of scanners, hard disk etc. make it very cost effective.The software is robust and scaleable thus ensuring low recurring costs like maintenance.Corporate banking departments of Banks and FIs can use it to store proposals, monitoring documents etc. and retrieve them easily.
